Universal Group is the brainchild of Mr. Md. Shahjahan Shaju. Mr. Shaju is the key person and promoter of the group. The dynamic person started the business through establishment of MS Enterprise in the year 1990 and began import & supply of various products in the Bangladesh Market. The main products were Phoenix Cycle, Tin Plate, MS Plate, Tire, Commodity items, Lube Oil, etc.
Later with the advent of household LPG Cylinder in Bangladesh, M S Enterprise started distribution of LPG Cylinders by refilling from government organization “LP Gas Limited” a concern of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation. M S Enterprise is among the pioneers of importing LPG Cylinders in Bangladesh. Experiencing the huge demand for LPG Mr. Shaju established Universal Agency to expand LPG distribution business throughout the country. During this period he created a great reputation and rapport in the energy industry of Bangladesh. So, with the opening of importing Bitumen through private sector, he grabbed the opportunity and started importing bitumen privately to supply various constructions companies around the country.

Besides supplying Mr. Shaju decided to enter in the Energy Sector through establishment of industres to supply imported LPG bitumen to end users. With this vision he formed Universal Gas & Gas Cylinder Ltd. and started bottling LPG Cylinders in own plant since 2014. Later in 2017 he established another plant in the name of same concern to manufacturer LPG Cylinders locally. He is right now also planning to expand the business and already constructing an LPG Import, Storage and Distribution Plant with a Jetty Terminal to store around 5000 MT LPG.
