Bangladesh Scouts is the national Scouting organization of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Govt. approved scouting in Bangladesh through the President’s Order (No 111) on September 11, 1972 (Monday). Bangladesh became an independent member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) on 1st July 1974. The organization has 16,82,761 members as of 2017.
The organization changed its name to “Bangladesh Scouts” in 1978. In 1994, girls (Girls in Scouting) are accepted as members.
